It has been a while in the works (not unlike the shoes for the shoemaker’s children!). Always a higher priority to meet and work with clients.
While building this website, I was a difficult client. I needed time to sit and think what exactly was I trying to communicate and what was the purpose of the site. Until that was nailed down, any work that was done lacked a focus. Then try adding colour and layout decisions on top of that and my head started to spin!
So … if you are thinking of a website refresh or the creation of a new website, pull out a file folder and start collecting ideas, messages, urls of websites and images – anything that you feel will appeal to your customer. Don’t try to flesh it all out at once but let it percolate. Talk to your customers, your employees and get their input. Then ask yourself what is the number one purpose for your web presence? Start with the basics and you cannot go wrong.
I finally followed my own advice and here is the new site. I am happy to showcase some of my clients’ websites. They did most of the heavy lifting while I was just there to facilitate and guide them through the process.
